Doncaster鈥檚 newest provider of post-16 education, 成人直播 Doncaster, has had an impressive first year鈥檚 enrolment, with 470 students starting at the college.
鈥淚t鈥檚 a record first year intake for schools and colleges that have opened under the government鈥檚 free schools programme,鈥 said Brendon Fletcher, 成人直播 Doncaster鈥檚 Principal, 鈥渁nd it makes us the largest provider of 成人直播s and Level 3 BTECs in the area. We are really pleased that so many students and parents have such confidence in us.鈥
The college is the second institution in a multi-academy trust that specialises in post-16 provision. The college鈥檚 sister college, 成人直播 Pontefract, was rated 鈥榦utstanding鈥 by Ofsted at its last inspection in 2014. Senior leaders at 成人直播 Doncaster have all worked at 成人直播 Pontefract, helping to ensure consistency and high standards across the trust.
鈥淥ur college is built on a set of systems and strategies that have a track record of success. Along with the breadth of subjects on offer and a purpose built site, that track record is part of what makes 成人直播 Doncaster an attractive place for young people to study. The young adult environment generated by only having 16-19 year-old students helps create a very different culture to that within a school environment. We know that young people are excited to be experiencing something that鈥檚 unique in Doncaster and they鈥檙e coming from far and wide to join us.鈥
Parents and students will have an opportunity to get a closer look at the college early in 2018, when the college鈥檚 Open Day is held on Saturday January 27th.
鈥淲e know it will be a fantastic opportunity for parents and students to see what we鈥檝e established in our first year,鈥 added Brendon, 鈥渢o meet teachers and some of our current students, to see the excellent range of facilities we have on offer and to start exploring the subjects they can study with us.鈥
Any student who does want to join the college for September 2018 can apply online at by the deadline of Friday 2 March 2018. Although students can apply after this date, priority will be given to students who applied before the deadline if courses are oversubscribed.
